Outing October 6, 2026…

It has definitely been way too long since we fished the river. Although the water level was a bit low, it didn’t disappoint. And now that the temperatures have started to cool off, we figured that the time was right to go.

The morning started off cool…44F according to the thermometer in the car. We both had a case of the shivers as we stepped into the river. After about a half hour, I pulled out the brew kit, fired up the stove and made a cup of coffee for us to share.

Shortly after, the sun peeked out over the valley and the temperature started to climb. And once we figured out the pattern we were catching them.

Zip has been suffering from cabin fever. Due to my crazy work schedule and week upon week of overtime, we haven’t had time to do much outdoors. He thoroughly enjoyed himself running back and forth between us and traipsing around checking out the smells.

The final temperature reading on the trip showed 84F and we considered it a successful day having caught several decent sized fish, and a much needed outing. Zip slept most of the way home as he was worn out.

Zip is not allowed on the couch, but neither one of us had the heart to make him get down. We let him sleep as we knew his paws were probably sore since he put in many more miles than we did.

Sorry for the lack of posts, but we thank you for reading and hope to post more soon. Take care!
